Would you like to learn more about meditating and what it does for you exactly? I explain more about it here.
Why meditate?
The main goal of meditating is to divert your attention away from your environment. You really want to focus your attention entirely on yourself and your internal processes. As a result, your intentions, thoughts, and internal conversations become the focal point instead of all kinds of external factors.
Just like with everything you can learn, you can build a neural network in your brain for meditation. This takes meditating from difficult, to better, to easy, to subconscious and automatic. The more knowledge you have about the brain and meditation, the better prepared you are to experience the benefits.

Meditation is scientifically proven
A study published in 2014 in Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews shows that meditating for 30 minutes every day for 8 weeks already makes a difference in our gray matter. This is because meditation stimulates neuroplasticity, the fact that we can change our brain. As a result, meditation exercises have a positive influence on, for example, our anxiety system, but also on how we deal with stress. All in all, I recommend that you meditate for at least 10 to 20 minutes every day. This way you get used to the process faster and you will start feeling good about it sooner!
